Biography

Sierra Nota is a doctoral candidate (ABD) in Russian and East European History at Stanford University. Her dissertation explores the relationship between Mezhyhirya, a land parcel north of Kyiv, and the regimes that possessed it from 1786 to 2014. She has also conducted archival research on Siberian city planning, the Nazi Occupation of Ukraine, and the formation of the Russo-Ukrainian border. Before Stanford, Sierra received her BA, summa cum laude, from Harvard University.

Introducing Our 2023-24 Pre and Postdoctoral Fellows

The Center on Democracy, Development and the Rule of Law (CDDRL) is pleased to welcome six pre- and postdoctoral fellows who will be joining us for the 2023-24 academic year. These scholars will spend the academic year focusing on the Center's four program areas of democracy, development, evaluating the efficacy of democracy promotion, and rule of law.
