Welcome
The Stanford U.S.-Russia Forum (SURF) is an ongoing initiative of the Freeman Spogli Institute for International Studies (FSI) at Stanford University, founded in 2008. It is the world's only independent research organization that brings students and young professionals from the United States and Russia together to foster understanding between cultures, share knowledge, and gain experience in doing collaborative research.

SURF is an interdisciplinary year-long collaborative program that brings together some of the top graduate and advanced undergraduate students to explore ideas of mutual interest to both the U.S. and Russia with an eye to improving future relations.
