The Stanford U.S.-Russia Forum (SURF) is an ongoing initiative of the Freeman Spogli Institute for International Studies (FSI) at Stanford University, founded in 2008. It is the world's only independent research initiative that brings students and young professionals from the United States and Russia together to foster cross-cultural understanding, share knowledge, and gain experience in collaborative research. The program is open to students enrolled at Stanford and several partnering European universities.
