Bio

I expect to receive my PhD this fall from Yale University with a specialization in comparative politics and political economy, especially with regard to North Africa. My research focuses on transitions from authoritarian regimes, ideology, corruption, and political nostalgia. I am exploring these questions primarily with regard to Tunisia, where I use multiple methods including text analysis, elite interviews, surveys, and survey experiments. Prior to beginning my PhD, I worked as assistant editor for the Journal of Democracy. I have a BA in International Relations from Tufts University, an MS in Applied Economics from Johns Hopkins University, and an MA and MPhil in Political Science from Yale. I have spent more than three years living in Egypt, Morocco, and Tunisia.
