Dr. Sunita Rani is a professor of Social Management at Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration (LBSNAA), Mussoorie (India). Prior to joining LBSNAA, she was a commissioned officer in the Indian Air Force (IAF). Professor Sunita’s career, to date, is a mix of teaching, training, administration, and personnel management. She started her career as a Lecturer of Psychology in the year 2000 at a college in a small village in Rajasthan. She joined the Indian Air Force (IAF) in 2004 in the Education Branch.
Her doctorate research work focused on the study of Personality Variables of Aspiring and Experienced Entrepreneurs and Managers in India. Her current research focuses on the role of Personality, Negotiation, and Conflict Handling Skills, Gender issues in Entrepreneurship and Public Service, Training and selection process of Civil Services Officers, Consumer Behaviour, etc.
Her research has been published in several academic journals, including the International Journal of Management and Enterprise Development, Managing Global Transitions, Industrial Management & Data Systems, Management Research Review, and the Proceedings of the 7th Management International Conference—Advancing Business and Management in Knowledge-based Society (2006), 9th Management International Conference (MIC 2008)—Intercultural Dialogue and Management and 2014 IMRA-Kean International Conference (2014) New Jersey.
Professor Sunita earned a PhD in HRM, an MBA, and an M.Sc (Applied Psychology) from the Guru Jambeshwar University of Science and Technology, Hisar (India).
At LBSNAA, she is the faculty coordinator for Management and Behavioral Sciences. Her current teaching assignments revolve around Leadership, Personality, Negotiation, Communication, Ethics, Emotional Intelligence, Team Work, Group Dynamics, and Gender Issues. She is a certified trainer for Personality Development and Interpersonal Relationships (Big Five, FIRO-B), Leadership (Centre for Creative Leadership), and Negotiation (MISB, Bocconi).
She has been an active outdoor person since her college days and has ventured out in sports like Hockey and Volleyball and Adventure sports like Mountaineering.
In addition to contributing to meaningful research in the areas of Psychology, Organizational Behaviour, and Human Resource Management and training civil servants capable of serving the society meaningfully as part of her career objectives, her life objective is to reach out to people and help them in achieving their potential and lead a better life.
