Testimonials for "American Prophet"
I want to express my gratitude for Dr. Carson and the course team. The course helped me in understanding the goals and acts of Dr. King…. I think Dr. King was a smart person and his leadership played a big role in civil rights movement. He did what really seemed impossible. Thank you and keep up the good work. - Hamideh Iraj, Tehran, Iran
I am really glad to be doing this course and learning about details I did not know. As a Spanish teacher in my upper intermediate class I asked students to present on a woman who they believed had changed history. A student chose to represent Rosa Parks, she dressed like her and talked about the importance of the Montgomery Movement. I was so proud of her presentation, and glad I could add some details to discuss in class thanks to this course. I highlighted the length of the bus boycott and how important it is to be a leader like Dr. Martin Luther King who not only believes in peace but guides everyone to be truly realistic and patient (as he told everyone that it would cost them money) and most importantly, peaceful to achieve their goals. Thank you. - Claudia Kechkian
Thank you so much for offering this course. There were many documents, letters, and speeches that I didn't know much about until this class. I have gained a deeper understanding and respect for Dr. King, whom I already respected. His message was powerful. I'm especially grateful for the faith he had and exemplified. His knowledge and understanding of his place in the world as a son of God is powerful. That mindset for me is powerful and puts all things into perspective. Nothing else really matters except our relationship with God and our love for him and for our fellow brothers and sisters. Dr. King taught this through word and deed. Thank you again. - Emery Smith
After doing this course, I find myself thinking, what if? What if, Reverend King had survived? Would we be living in a different United States now.? Reverend King showed so much patience, love and commitment to the cause. He always put his best foot forward, even when he knew, some people may not totally agree with his decision. I realize now more than ever how much he sacrificed for the people. He is an amazing human being. I want to continue studying his work. Thank you for this opportunity. Thank you. - Barbara Ramsey, Dallas, Texas
