Research Interests

Politics of humanitarian action, civilian protection/ peacekeeping, human security, policy design, democratic foreign policy (roles of public opinion, NGOs, media, etc.), the politics of global conservation

Bio

Andrea is a Visiting Scholar at the Center for Democracy, Development, and the Rule of Law at Stanford University.  She has previously worked as a Visiting Assistant Professor in the Politics Department at the University of California, Santa Cruz and as an Assistant Professor in the Department of International Affairs at the University of Georgia.   She received her PhD from Princeton University in 2012 and spent 2011-2012 as a research fellow at Dartmouth College’s Dickey Center for International Understanding. She holds a B.A. from Stanford and has studied in Berlin as a Fulbright Scholar.
